So, I ran out of insulin before I got to ordered more. It takes seven days to get it. Your doctor does not speak to you kindly when you call him with that information. I guess I need to get on the ball. I ended up having to drive an hour down to the hospital just to get my insulin. I had to take my 2 year old with me, during nap time. She was not the happiest camper. When we got there she did however get to take her first ride in an elevator. We went in I pressed the second floor button and the doors closed. We started to move up when I felt this little hand grab mine. It was not just holding daddy’s hand, it was more like a what the hell is going on death grip. She was the first one off when the doors opened. I worried about the ride back down. By this time everything is going good, we got our number and the wait started. Five minutes into the wait she decided to sit in my lap. The people around us scared her for some reason. Then she decides to see how many times she can get in and out of my lap before I would make her stop. It didn’t take long. Now that she had to be parked in one spot she has to go to the bathroom. This was great since we were two numbers away from getting called. We talked about it and she said she could hold it. So our number gets called and we go to the booth to get my insulin order started. All the sudden a lady appears in the booth with a question for the guy behind the computer. They talk for several minutes as my little one is doing the pee pee dance. The lady leaves and I get my order placed. On to the bathroom when ran. It’s very strange to have to take your daughter in the mens public bathroom. We get that taken care of, then got the insulin and headed back to the elevator. I had a plan this time though, I let her hit the button. By the time the door opened on the ground floor she couldn’t stop laughing and jumping around. I can honestly say I wasn’t that upset that I had to make the trip, I got to enjoy a new experience with my baby girl. The only thing that didn’t go my way, she got to sleep on the way home and I had to drive……. thenewdiabetic.wordpress.com
